Terms of Service

Confidentiality

A Neater Life provides a fully confidential service and will not divulge any information to a third party without your approval. If you kindly agree to testimonials/photographs being used they will be anonymised and only used for marketing and training purposes.


Best Advice 

All advice is given in good faith. A Neater Life cannot accept responsibility for actions and consequences arising from these. A Neater Life is not a valuing service and is unable to identify items of noteworthy value or rarity.


Working practices

A Neater Life is unable to provide a full cleaning service. Large or heavy items will not be moved for health and safety reasons.

If access to any area of the home or premises is restricted or unsafe, A Neater Life reserves the right to charge for lost time and expenses incurred. 

Work will not be undertaken with clients under the influence of alcohol or drugs and charges may be made for lost time and expenses incurred.


Removal of Items

All advice is offered in good faith. It is the client’s decision whether to accept guidance on retention or disposal of items. Belongings removed from premises must be at the client’s discretion. Disposal will not take place without authorisation and once removed, items cannot be returned.

Reusing, recycling and donation of unwanted items will be promoted wherever practically possible.


Payment Terms

There is no charge for an initial consultation by phone, online or in person.

Current prices are listed on A Neater Life website and include costs for half day (3 hours) and full day (6 hours) services.

If an hourly service is agreed, billed hours will be calculated from arrival at the home or premises, until departure, excluding breaks.

Following organising sessions, an invoice will be issued, with full payment due. Bank transfer and cash are preferred options.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are available for in person or virtual organising, with a minimum purchase value of three hours.

Vouchers are non-refundable, not redeemable for cash and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

Vouchers are valid for twelve months from date of purchase and will not be replaced if lost, stolen or damaged.

Travel Costs

Travel up to 60 miles (round trip) is free. Excess travel may incur a charge by agreement.

Cancellation Policy

Both parties have the right to cancel the contract due to unavoidable circumstances. If cancellation is within 5 days of the agreed date, A Neater Life reserves the right to incur a charge of any expenses accrued to date and 50% of the contract fee.


Compliance

A Neater Life holds Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance to the value of £1 million. As a verified member of the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO), A Neater Life adheres to a code of ethics and working practices.

A current Enhanced DBS certificate is also held.

COVID-19 Safety

The following measures will be taken:

  • Clients must confirm that household members have not experienced Covid symptoms in the last 14 days, or tested positive for Covid-19, prior to work commencing
  • Maintenance of two metre social distance, where possible
  • Facemasks will be worn indoors
  • Employ good hygiene practices including frequent hand washing and sanitising.
