Terms of Service


A Neater Life provides a fully confidential service and will not divulge any information to a third party without your approval. If you kindly agree to organising and decluttering testimonials/photographs they will be anonymised and used for marketing purposes only.

Best Advice 

All advice is given in good faith. A Neater Life cannot accept responsibility for actions and consequences arising from these. Best endeavours will be used to identify items of high value; however, A Neater Life is not a valuing service and is therefore unable to identify items of special value or rarity.

Working practices

There is often some light cleaning involved in the decluttering process, however, A Neater Life is unable to provide a full cleaning service. 

For reasons of health and safety, large or heavy items will not be moved.

If access to any area of the home or premises is restricted or unsafe, A Neater Life reserves the right to charge for lost time and expenses incurred. 

Work will not be undertaken with clients that are under the influence of alcohol or drugs and charges may be made for lost time and expenses incurred.

Removal of Items

Advice is given in good faith and it is always the clients decision to accept guidance on whether to keep or dispose of belongings. Items to be removed from premises, either for disposal or to other locations, must be at the client’s discretion. Disposal will not take place without authorisation.

Reusing, recycling and donating items will be promoted wherever possible.

Payment Terms

There is no charge for an initial consultation in the home or premises.

Charges are detailed on A Neater Life website and include costs for half day

(3 hours) and full day (6 hours) services.

If an hourly service is agreed, billed hours will be calculated from arrival at the home or premises, until departure, excluding breaks.

Following organising sessions, an invoice will be issued, with full payment due.

Bank transfer or cash are preferred options.

Travel Costs

Travel up to 60 miles (round trip) is free. Excess travel may incur a charge by agreement.

Cancellation Policy

Both parties have the right to cancel the contract due to unavoidable circumstances. If you cancel within 5 days of the agreed date, A Neater Life reserves the right to incur a charge of any expenses accrued to date and charge 50% of the contract fee.


A Neater Life holds Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance to the value of £1 million. As a verified member of the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO), A Neater Life adheres to a code of ethics and working practices.

A current Enhanced DBS certificate is also held.

COVID-19 Safety

To promote the safety of all concerned, the following government advised measures will be used:

  • Clients must confirm that household members have not experienced Covid symptoms in the last 14 days, or tested positive for Covid-19, prior to work commencing
  • Maintenance of two metre social distance when working with clients
  • Facemask will be worn indoors
  • Employ good hygiene practices including frequent hand washing and sanitising.  
  • Clothing will be freshly laundered for each visit
  • Provide own face masks and hand sanitiser
