Home Moving Services

If you’re staging your home for sale, downsizing or needing assistance with decluttering, I’ll help you achieve a smoother, stress-free move. From dealing with move admin or unpacking in your new home, my support will ensure a calm and easy transition.

Selling your home involves making a positive first impression on potential buyers. My home staging service will provide advice on how to highlight your home’s best features and maximise its appeal to the widest number of potential purchasers.

Moving to a smaller home can feel particularly daunting, especially when a lifetime of possessions is involved. I can help you declutter your furniture and belongings, planning what will fit into your new home and where it will go, making the best use of space.

In preparation for the move, I’ll help you make decisions about items of furniture to keep and what will fit in your new home. I’ll help you streamline your belongings, making for a much smoother, time-efficient process.

Liaising with Estate Agents and Solicitors, obtaining removal quotes, form filling, planning move day, taking meter readings, change of address – there’s no doubt that moving admin is time-consuming and stressful. The good news is, I can help with some of it… or all of it!

Following the move I’ll unpack your belongings, organising each room according to your preferences. This can include unpacking the kitchen and bathroom, making up beds and organising storage spaces. I can support as much as required, leaving you the time and space to simply relax in your new home!

FAQs

Research shows that moving home is one of the most stressful things we ever do. Decisions to be made, people to deal with and tasks to be completed. In fact, anticipation of this stress and upheaval often puts people off moving at all! The good news is that I can take much of the work, and stress away by supporting you at any stage of the moving process – before, during and after.

The whole moving process, or just a part of it!

For example:

  • Home Staging – so that your home is more appealing to buyers, sells quickly and achieves the best price
  • Liaising with estate agents and solicitors on your behalf
  • Arranging removal surveys
  • Sorting and decluttering prior to moving
  • Arranging sale, donation, disposal or recycling of unwanted items
  • Assist with change of address and utility notifications
  • Organising move day
  • Taking final meter readings/dropping off keys
  • Unpacking post move and helping you settle into your new home

Moving from a long-term family home can feel particularly daunting.

Where do I start? What should I take with me? How do I know it will fit? This is where I can help. I have lengthy experience of helping people downsize and successfully navigate this new phase of their lives.

It’s often a family member that initially contacts me on behalf of their loved one when a downsize is required. When families live at a distance or have other commitments, I can provide practical and emotional support, and liaise with family members as needed.

Prices are for either 3 or 6 hour blocks of time, which can include supporting in your existing home or new home, or admin work from my office, e.g. booking removals, liaising with estate agents, etc. You can view my prices here.

This is becoming more popular in the UK and for good reason! Selling your home is one of the biggest financial decisions you’ll ever make, and potentially the most lucrative.

Home Staging is the process of preparing a home for sale by highlighting its best features and making it as appealing as possible to the widest number of potential buyers. In other words, making it stand out from the crowd.

Decluttering is an important part of home staging but it’s much more than that. There are many other components that make home staging an effective marketing tool, such as repairs, decor, colour, furniture arrangement, kerb appeal, and many small details that create a sense of home and capture a buyer’s imagination.
  • Appraisal of the whole property, including outdoor areas using a ‘buyers eye’
  • Discussion of the budget available – whether large or small
  • Marketing advice to improve saleability
  • Advice on colour schemes, if required
  • Advice on storage and furniture, if required

The price is £245 for a home visit (up to 3 hours), and includes a brief report with a summary of recommendations.

I recommend a free consultation by phone or Zoom, to gain an understanding of where you are in the moving process and the type of support you need. Once I have this information and if you are happy to proceed, we can get started!
