15 Questions for a Successful Declutter

Book Nook scaled 1

One of the things clients say they often struggle with, is making decisions about what to keep and what to let go. This is completely understandable. We invest so much time, money and emotions in the things we own, so making decisions about them can feel really tricky. And if we dither and dander over every item, it can turn decluttering into a very time-consuming process.

So I’ve put together a list of useful questions to ask yourself when you next declutter your home. They are designed to help you get more clarity about what to keep in your life, so that you can make decisions with confidence. Remember to handle every item and ask yourself:

  • Do I love it?
  • How does it make me feel?
  • What’s my gut feeling?
  • Do I need it for practical reasons?
  • Does it still fit me?
  • Do I feel good in it?
  • When did I last use/wear it?
  • How many of these do I have?
  • Do I have something else that does the same thing?
  • Would I buy it again?
  • If it broke, would I replace it?
  • How often do I need this?
  • Has it served it’s purpose?
  • Who am I keeping this for?
  • Does it reflect who I am/my life now?
